Mandelbrot set: Region #9

This region is a blow-up of part of the spiral illustrated in the previous page (Region #8), before the subsequent blow-up of its "central" part.

You may have noticed that the colours don't match; for some reason I must have changed that part of the program - I can't remember why! Anyway, I did some more colour changes, firstly by refining the program, for the first three examples below, and then by using a graphic editor to play with the colours of the last of those three examples within the existing contours.

Those more-or-less circular features are often called "compound eyes"; we'll zoom up on one of them in the next page.
