Mandelbrot set: Region #18

This page is an investigation of Region #2. The focus of attention is a flea about halfway down and not far from the black area to the right, indicated by a small white box:

The first modification I made to the program moved the flea closer to the centre, and extended the aura further into the white buffer zone:

I then made two modifications to the colours, first to the ribbons and then to the aura:

I then went back to the program and made further modifications to the aura, thus extending the yellow region:

Then I got stuck into my graphics editor again, ultimately producing five more colour variations, starting with a "blue-green algae" version:

I suppose I could be accused of going a bit bananas here. But after all, I suppose I should live up to my "Mad Teddy" persona; and anyway, as the man said: "We're never going to survive, unless we get a little crazy..."
